Soft and Chewy Ginger Snap Cookies

Grandma's favorite soft and chewy ginger snap cookie recipe.

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Bowl
  • 1 Mixer Stand mixer, hand mixer, or a wooden spoon and old fashioned elbow grease.
  • 1 Parchment Paper For cookie sheet while baking
  • 1 Cookie Sheet

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl
  • Mix until completely incorporated
  • Shape dough into 1 inch balls
  • Roll dough balls into sugar until fully covered
  • Place on cookie sheet. Evenly spaced with approximately 2 inches between each ball.
  • Bake cookies for 10 minutes until the bottom of the cookies have browned.
  • Let cookies cool on cookie sheet before moving to a cooling rack.
